Beginner
1.Create an account on ebay.com

2.Link it to a valid paypal account. For that you'll need a valid bank account (in India).

3.Look for the item you wish to buy.

3.1 Things to keep in mind while selecting an item:

3.1.1 Prefer an ebay Top-Rated seller.(They have a golden badge next to their names)

3.1.2 Make sure the seller has a high positive feedback.(90% - 100%)

3.1.3 Read all the information provided on the item.

3.1.4 Contact the seller for further information if you aren't sure about something.

3.2 Bid / buy the item.

3.3 Pay via Paypal. Do not make direct A/c transfers.

3.4 Make an account with ShopnShip/ Iccworld and have the item delivered there.

3.5 Ask for tracking number of the package.

3.6 Track the package till it arrives at your doorstep.

3.7 Open and enjoy the goodies.

Question: I am planning to buy a used phone, the seller doesn't have much feedback, but it's 100%.As is with used items, i need detailed information of just how much damage is there on the device.Have tried contacting the seller through the ebay.com message utility. But no response yet.How should i proceed?

^Not very clear pics in the listing. So,i'v sent him a msg saying i'll hold payment until further communication is established.

i used my credit card for linking to paypal, pay pal charges you 1.95$ for verification of the account. After verification the amount is refunded back to you.

But my credit card's bill is generated on a particular date which is 9 days away. How do i get the verification code???

Amount will be refunded as Paypal balance. Currently I don't think you can use PP balance to make purchases, so that amount will remain useless.

If you have a Citi card, you would have got a notification when you opted for the confirmation. That notification would also include the code.

Otherwise, for all other (private bank) cards, you can check your card statement online. The transaction shows up in 2 days.

^ ahh netbanking..!!! :) thanks, will have to wait another 6 days for the PIN QQ. And if any of you guys would like to add to the tiny tutorial i'v put up plz let me know, i'll update the first post.

But what if seller just ship to us and not world wide we can't even bid for that.then what to do? how much charges of this sns or icc world? are they fast enough?

Get an SnS address. Ask the seller to ship to SnS. They will then get you the phone to your home. In my experience, they are pretty fast. The quickest I have got stuff is 3 days and the maximum time it took once is 6 days. Normally all stuff arrives in 5 days. Charges are $10 USD for the first 500 grams and $8 for every 500 grams thereafter. They also clear the customs for you. However, don't expect to get a tax free clearance, since they very rarely do that.
