Our college has wifi, which works only on a particular ip, and every person has been alloted an IP for the laptop.
In case of laptops, its fine, I know how to change, but in Android, how to do it?
You can do this in the 'Advanced' menu of the connection once you set it up.
Connect to a network with the correct SSID and password. Once it is rregistered (even if you do not get an IP assigned) it will show up in your connections list. You can then access the advanced menu where you can set up fixed IP. Root is not required.
I switch on the wifi.
It shows available wifi. It even gets connected to it.
But in order to do actually browse the net, you've got to change the IP address. Else it will just show unable to connect.
It was the same for the laptop too, but then I took it to the college IT guy and he gave me the IP config and told me to edit the IP address in the IPv4.
