Forum Feedback How to change username?

Unfortunately we won't be changing usernames from now on. Users will have to create a new ID and use that in case they need a username change desperately. :)
 
^ well, I don't feel necessity of showing those ranks

they are just routine titles for me ;) (like junior, senior ..)

Although i dont want to change username but want to ask why this decision has been taken ? I have in my tenure on TE seen user name change initiative from mod side twice.

I had PMed Renegade (just after the second round of username changes) regarding the same and he replied back saying it was too much of a hassle for the mods to revise the same and that the second round was the last time.

I cant remember the exact reply but it was definitely on those lines.
 
Well.... I too wanted a change of username..... nothing much.... just 'nehaladsul' to 'nihaladsul'

Dunno what hassle the mods are exactly talking about. :S

And opening a new profile is outright crazy..... Whoever came with that idea in the 1st place?? Isn't having multiple accounts against TE Policy?? :@

And what about the iTrust ratings?? Don't they mean anything??

Even otherwise, I really want to know what 'hassles' the mods have to go through in order to change usernames?? :huh:
 
sorry to break in between but NOW while editing our profile preferences do we compulsory have to give details for this space:- Suggest one good rule that we have and why?:

Your response will directly impact whether you will be accepted as a member or not so please be as detailed as possible.

I 'm a member like many other members for past 6yrs so what if we do suggest a good rule & still if it doesn't impress you, then will you block/ban/remove/disable our a/cs? Or is it just for new members.??

Doesnt this shit thing sounds like the one for registration of TEAMBHP idiotic admins?? :no:Many people are opposing against this ruthless teambhp policies.
 
lol, they say they can't change the usernames , ok fine.. atleast activate the new ones... mine shows
you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

whenever i click profile, try to pm anyone or create a thread.. and also some threads are not visible to my new account...

its been 5 days now...

PM me the new user id you have created.

That was meant to moderate and regulate new memberships. An existing member has to fill in the "suggest good rule" space while editing his/her profile details, 'coz there is no workaround to it. Existing member accounts will never be banned or deleted, unless the member is found to be spamming or behaving inappropriately.
 
Give me Moderator Privileges for a week.

I'll handle all the 'hassles' required for username changes in that 1 week.

Thereafter, curtail my privileges & make my profile the regular user profile......!!!

@ ajo_alex newly registered accounts have such restrictions :(

I do not understand the reason for getting a new account just for

changing user name - leaving behind valuable posts & reputation..

Edit : I was responding to earlier post without looking at new replies !!
 
joining more forums so I can't keep track of all the usernames :D, so thought of changing it.. since that can't be done , creating a new account.

At least somebody is ready to take some efforts
But I think it won't be as easy as it feels or else mods would not have refused for doing it
 
^ yes, its a complex task on huge forums with large number of posts.

data base needs to be re-built with new user name - it might take much time..

Exactly. This is similar to what Renegade (Back then he was Admin) had replied to my PM.

Anyways i dont think its gonna happen, with none of the mods (or Admins) replying to this thread :(

Nothing is easy..... But having the courage & desire to try is the most difficult!!!

Neway, I assume that the Mods are not replying coz they are really not interested in doing this...... coz it is complex, not easy & involves lots of hassles...... :P
