Is there any way to do this in Windows 7, for vista there was a software "Vista folder background" which does this, but it wont work with win7,my eyes are blasted with 255.255.255 :(:( ......solutions anyone?

Right click -> Personalize -> Next to the wallpaper change option, you get an option to change the color of the windows -> Click on advanced and you will be able to set the color saturation.

I would love to help, but do not get what you want. Sorry for being slow. Could you post an image, and circle, the 'color of what' you want changeable...?

Well you can try these two untested methods. They should work. Nothing that drastic, so your system will not be compromised.

1. Windows 7 - Win Explorer Background Change

2. Windows 7 - Change folder background color for free

The (2) has has a link for IcoFX - The Free Icon Editor at the bottom. Give that a try too.

Let me know if this helps..!
Thanks for the link, but i have gone through those discussions earlier but didst try it, because its too long procedure.
Looks like M$ have disabled this option completely in Win7:(

Err the place where i am asking you to go will allow you to adjust the settings for the overall color.
Thats color calibration, it has nothing to do with explorer background color selection.
