i basically purchased a set of new speakers (Creative inspire 2.1 channel)

since i got the speaker.. i been thinking that the speakers are not performing accordingly ..
i dont kno the parameters , or the technique to basically see if the speakers are fine .. i need help ..

i think that the woofer actually starts to distort at higher level of volume...whereas they shd hv been performing to the best of their o/p ..

are there any tools to actually mark the performance of the speaker???

Nopes... you just have to trust your ears. If it sounds bad, it could be damaged. In the worst case RMA it.

Well the Inspire 2.1's are entry level 2.1 speakers and will distort at high-volume.

Your best bet should be playing it around 60%. Check you onboard sounds configuration also or maybe get a cheap sounds card if possible :)

You can try RightMark Audio Analyzer :

RMAA suite is designed for testing quality of analog and digital paths of any audio devices, be it a sound card, an MP3 player, a consumer CD/DVD player or an acoustic set. The results are obtained by playing and recording test signals passed through the tested audio path by means of frequency analysis algorithms. A more common mark is also provided for those unfamiliar with measured technical parameters.

ok.. i ll let the cat outta the bag ..

these actually arent my speakers.. a frnd of mine bought em..

he did mentioned abt the speakers giving away a bit wen he increased the volume..

so i was thinkin if we can simply see to the fact that we mite calibrate it and mark its performance..

Another lil query was..

these were ordered for abt Rs 1600/- ... i dnt think we can get anything better than these in the same price range..? (read 2.1)
