How to chnage the default view in Windows 7?

I have the details view as a default view in Windows 7, and its a pain on my 17" monitor, I wanna change the default view to list. Any help here?
 
1) Open any folder or drive.

Set view type to "default view" (or anything you want to set)

2) From header menu:

Organize -> Folder and search option -> Click "View" Tab -> click "Apply to folders" -> yes -> Apply -> ok
 
My comp

go to the drive, select customize folder on right click, choose the view you want and select apply to sub folders..and you're done..
 
@PM: I dont see the option on right clicking.



@Ravi: That is possible in Windows XP,2000 etc, but doesnt seem to be possible on Win 7.
