Hi guys,
I don't know whether this topic should be here or somewhere else. My chip had died & had gone to my vendor for replacement. It's a 1.8 Ghz chip/CPU. It's already 15 days & the vendor says that Intel, chennai doesn't have the above chip in its stock. Is there a way to complain as well as get any news from Intel as to when or what has happened with my chip? Looking for help in this regard.
Thanx in advance.

Isnt the warranty handled by APAC India??? Do write to Intel from their website and let them know that you are getting crappy service here. The people at the HQ are bothered abt customer satisfaction, writing to the local goons (read "Intel India Warranty Section" or something) doesnt help.

And they are supposed to give a better processor if they dont have one in stock or a credit note for the price u bought it for. Just be firm when you talk.

And i have heard horror stories about APAC India. Be patient.

Raghu.

Intel might have slower chips in stock for replacement and testing purposes. Thats what i have seen in the USA, might not be the same here. They might also give you processors that were returned due to other reasons.

And yes the 2.4C is the slowest in the market now :D looks like a good upgrade if you get that.

APAC India Is awesome IF u call directly and register your complaint at their call center. Through retailers it will take ages.

I got my motherboard replaced 2-3 times. Very efficient. I got it back within 5-6 days.

Lemme see if i can locate the nos for u .

amit,

it would be great if u could get the numbers & add it here so in future if anyone has similar experience it would be better. Thanx for the effort.Would be complaining to Intel USA through the web-site as well.

Intel complaint registration :: 1800 44 6835 Pin# 1214

If there is any problem with the number then email neeti.badhan@intel.com for the no. which u must dial from ur city.

This lady will just help u with the nos.. she must be a senior lady. Not part of warranty and issues dept so dont email her your hardware issues. Just ask for the tel nos.
