Is it possible to connect 5.1 speakers from LG, Samsung, Sony etc. meant for connecting to a DVD player to a computer and achieve true 5.1 sound in games?

As long as they have 3 stereo inputs for fronts, rears and sub+center it'll work. If it only has SPDIF, it won't work.

I haven't bought the speakers yet so I don't know for sure but I am sure that I won't be able to connect directly to a computer as they r not computer speakers. I was wondering if there was workaround like for connecting a 5.1 computer speaker system to a dvd player as given above but in reverse. Also, I have creative audigy ZS soundcard.

Like I told you in the other thread, you'll need rca to mini cables. They look like this -

The white and red go into your DVD player, and you plug your AL 251 wire into this cable. You'll need 3 of these.

Can you tell me how i connect my 5.1 speakers to my DVD player if i only have mixed audio input on DVD (one red and one white)

Thanks

^^ Since he mentiones 5.1 computer speakers. he'll only need a decoder. The creative one is under 10K I believe.

Me back again, This time around, I want to strech the length of the cables so that the rear speakers can be positioned in the rear, I got some cables from SP road but the jacks did not match, Can someone tell me the dimensions or the sort of cable I should be looking for??
