so just to be clear, the Beetle 220 is a modem, and the linksys is another modem, and you wanna connect 2 modems together??? please explain more comprehensively.

he wants to use his linksys in wan port mode i.e., to act as a wifi router alone, using his beetel modem to forward internet to linksys...

@op - go to lan settings and change it to wan port. Change the 3rd octet of the gateway ip of your linksys to something other than the 3rd octet of the gateway ip of your beetel modem.

Now connect beetel to the 1st port of your linksys router. Connect the pcs ethernet cable to the remaining ports of your linksys router..

Thats it and dont forget to say thanx if you made it work...

oh.. so you mean he just wants the typical basic setup to put a wireless router in between his computer and the existing beetel modem???

then in most simple terms, remove the lan cable from your computer, put it in the line in of your linksys router, take another lan cable, put it in one of the lan ports of your router and connect it to your computer or connect wirelessly if you have wifi card or laptop.

most probably, you wont need to change any ip settings.. .because most of the standalone modems have 0 in their third octet, while the routers have 1.

all you need to do is configure the PPPoE protocol in your linksys router with the username and password of your broadband account, and spoof the mac address of the computer which was used when you bought the connection.

By factory default, beetel modems (even the wifi adsl ones) come with a gateway of xxx.xxx.1.1 only. So its mandatory for the OP to change the gateway IP of the beetel modem to xxx.xxx.0.1 after following the above mentioned steps...

@OP - you havent specified the model number of your linksys B modem.

i guess this one is yours
