I have a Samsung HDTV and I need to know how do I connect the headphones to it. I guess I will need a convertor of sorts. Would prefer a cheap and handy solution.

I do not enjoy watching movies on it because I have to set the volume very high to listen to the finer sounds, which in turn makes the loud effects unbearable.

Also any suggestions for a wireless headphone which can be coupled with it would be nice. I might go for it in near future if the wired experience is not hassle free.

If there is a headphone out port on the backside, use that with an extender cable. But if you want to ever use the speakers, then you would need to un plug the cable at the back.

Would suggest to get a cheap headphone amp along with a 3.5mm to RCA L+R audio cable. Connect the audio out of your TV to the headphone amp.

There is no headphone out, otherwise it would have been fairly straightforward. Would look around for the said amp. Is there a recommended device available online which I can order?

Renu, you sure there is no audio out 3.5mm jack? Not even at the back? What model is it? LA40C550?

For amp, you can go for something like the inexpensive FiiO E5.

Bah it's there.

The manual says so. Page 8. You will need an amp regardless. The output would be faint if heard on normal headphones. Give it a try anyway.

the jack will most probably in the side ports and not the back. my samsung HDTV has it on the side in the bottom below all the other HDMI and composite ports.. look carefully. it might have a black ring instead of the green one and in the beginning i even missed it due to a little darkness.

Ok I found it

Its on the back and looks very similar to the RCA ports and is black in color. I tried putting in the headphones and they fit right in. Anyway the sound output is very feeble so I will have to get an amplifier for sure.

If Gannu bhai remembers i created this very thread last year around this time only xD

What i did was use my old 2.1 speakers to amplify the sound.
