How to connect two laptops over wifi ?

I have my home laptop with all my movies etc in it. i wanna use my office laptop to access them when at home and watch movies as it has a better screen but dont wanna transferr them all. how create a network so i can acess them easily and hassle free. only my laptop should have access to them and not other laptops that are used on my home wifi. one is win 7 and other is win 10.
 
Don't forget to create an User and Password for the source Laptop and it will be used by the client to access files. There is of course a way to do this without credentials but you don't wish just any one to access it, right?

cant figure out how to do it. on the windows menu iits saying use workgroup only if all pcs are trusted.[DOUBLEPOST=1476717984][/DOUBLEPOST]ok i think i set it up. will need to check if other pc on network can also access my pc or not.

Just make same account and same password on other computers, and right click > Share > Share with Everyone and Give Read Write perms. Thats all needed when sharing via Workgroup

i din change any password, just made workgroup and added other pc to it with the displayed password. then shared all the drives and the user folder. now other pc on network can see but on trying to connect to me it asks for password soo its working how i wanted.

only thing is it does not fel fast in accessing. i copied a video ysday from the pc to mine and 2 time it failed and it transferred very slow at avg speed of 400kb/sec. Both have around 3-4 bars outta 5 on wifi so signal seems ok. Is it the modem which is the default beetel one from airtel causing slow speed ?
 
Go to command prompt and type ping the ip / all ..look for any loss ..might be a latency issue ..or the cables might be loose .
