hey guys,

i want to remove some 2~3 minutes part from a 720p movie.

is it possible?

how can i do so?

which software would be used?

thanks in advance

What's the file format?

If its MKV - VirtualDub is great but IIRC it doesn't support MKV files (and VirtualDubMod isn't in active development).

^Virtualdub and MKV files???

I assume the source is MKV since the OP said its 720p, in which case you'd be better off using mkvtoolnix to remove whatever part you need. Mind you, you will have to specify the timings etc as you will not have an interactive mark-in or mark-out system with it.

This kind of threads make me want to know which parts you want to edit so much that you are making threads.

There are ton O Video softwares to do so.Easiest seems virtual dub or MKVToolnix .

Though you will need to manually select the frame time as preview is not available on MKVtoolnix.

if any anyone could help me using virtualdub or toolnix to effect?

i'll be removing some scenes in The pacific which are highly 18+ because i'll be showing it to my younger cousin brothers..... so dont want such stuff .

1. Open your video file in VirtualDub.

2. Play the video file and stop where you want to cut your video(Drag the position slider to your desired location).

3. Click Edit > Set selection start

4. Play your video to the part you want to remove.

5. Click Edit > Set selection End

6. Click Edit > Delete

7. Click Video > Direct stream copy and Audio > Direct stream copy.

9. Click File > Save as AVI

Done!
