The Sauron
Forerunner
Well guys everyone here might be hard core computer user, some are addicted to use computer whole day and night.I am one from them,Really due to this my whole behavior towards social life changed completely, memory all most gone i cant remember things. so am worried about this. Here are some things found,am going to try,may be it should help some others like me.
Steps
1. Ask yourself how much time you spend on the computer. Is this excess time interfering with your social, academic, family, or religious life?
2. Set a certain time to be on the computer. Even if it is hard, limit yourself to around two hours a day.
3. Get interested in a sport or other social activity you can do with friends, so you won't have to be IMing them instead. Face to face talking is much better anyway.
4. Realize that it is not the end of the world if you are not able to check your email every single second. In the event of a truly important or timely matter, people will usually contact you via telephone or in person.
5. Close all your unnecessary accounts -- (MySpace, Runescape, Facebook,Orkut, ibibo, yahoo chat, rediff, indiatimes chat etc.).
6. Get out of the house. Go to a local coffee shop or even the mall for a change of pace.
7. Monitor the time you spend on the computer each day. Try setting an alarm for one or two hours and take a break.
8. Figure out what you spend the most time on (e-mail, games, music, IM, MySpace, Orkuting, ibibo, forms etc) and limit the time to a couple hours.
9. Break your ties with the Internet; shut down websites, unsubscribe from paid services, etc. If you have a computer in your bedroom, move it.
10. Find activities that take you away from the computer. Read a good book, go for a bike ride, play with the kids, walk the dogs, teach the cat a new trick, watch TV, listen to music on the stereo, or take a drive.
Tips
* Setting a certain time for yourself for computer time it isn't always easy. Choose two or three hours a day but be careful on how you space them. Having them too far apart can be torture, but having them too close together gives you little time to do anything in between. (Feel free to have certain schedules for certain days of the week.)
* Avoid game or chat sites.
* Avoid to be overloaded by Porn from internet,Divert your mind some where else.
* Use the Internet at a cafe. They usually limit the time to a couple hours.
* Buy software to help monitor and even constrain your online time. Parental control software can do this but you will need to make the administrator password inaccessible. It is recommended to have someone else set the password for you, so settings can be changed in the future.
* Buy some video or computer games. That will ensure that you are not on the Internet and you'll have fun with the computer too. Also, buy some computer software that is related to your hobbies but does not need a constant Internet connection. (Warning: video games can be just as or more addictive than the Internet, especially online games. Watch yourself.)
Warnings
* Don't start to freak out the first day when you stop being on the computer. Don't just quit, that will torture yourself more, spend some time on unfinished work you've been delaying or go for a run or bike ride with a friend or two, distract yourself.
