How to download 1080p vids from youtube?

IDM kills all, used all the so called alternatives and went back to IDM, just buy the original version when you can afford it.

IDM can not download encoded videos or can it?I dont have latest version but firefox plugin is up to date and i guess that is what really matters.

i hope utube links are allowed.can you guys try to download 720p/1080p for these videos.

First, you need to disable HTML5 videos for YouTube & get back flash. For Chrome, use this extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/disable-youtube-html5-pla/enmofgaijnbjpblfljopnpdogpldapoc
Then use latest version of IDM to download videos.

yeah latest IDM works.
i thought it was IDM addon that was responsible for generating links on webpages.guess i was wrong.

Add this to Firefox: http://www.cys-audiovideodownloader.com/

Then as instructed in options, download and install FFMPEG to mux audio video streams as youtube keeps them separate. They call it the DASH video format. The above plugin worked 99.9% of the times.

I downloaded the first video using the addon I posted above. Worked fine.
