How to download a file in utorrent using a proxy server?

hey #vivek.krishnan thanks for referring me, though I don't feel i'm an expert at this.

Nevertheless here's what I do..

Get Ultrasurf (latestversion)

open cmd - run command - "netstat -a -n" (this will list open ports, look for 127.0.0.1:xxxx)

put the port no. in ultrasurf and set utorrent proxy as -127.0.0.1 port: xxxx (through which you got connected in ultrasurf)

voila! you'll be up and ready to download.

Note! My proxy does not block private trackers so it's only to get the torrent file i have to run a vpn and download it normally without changes. it might be the case at your end too. check it.

Also VPN/Proxy clients are meant for conservative countries with lack of freedom of speech and Internet censorship. I would urge you to use it judiciously and not hog all the possible bandwidth that you may.
 
OP, you can also use Tor, but first check if that too is being blocked. Also, don't use Tor to download torrents, only the main .torrent file.

you will find to put a proxy server details in torrents preferences, this thing is useful for downloading torrents from sites with employ country ban on their site and tracker
