How to download restricted files in a college network?

Hey all..

I use wifi in our college.. The admin has restricted the download of divx, zip, avi, mp3 etc. files. as well as the use of download accelerators is restricted. please suggest some way of downloading these files in the current environment..

If the http traffic is limited on the server proxy, i don't think you can bypass that. Our college blocks and scans all traffic, so torrents, youtube, and other proxies are ruled out.

Try using ftp if thats enabled

Have the same problem at my school but im fight back lol

1)well if all u wanna do is visit blockled websites try googling "proxy sites" and use any one of the thousands of sites there are.

there are literally thousands so chances r youll find some that ur school hasnt blocked yet

and download "UltraSurf 8 client", unzip it, put in on a usb memory stick, and take it to school and save it, then open the program at school, wait a little while and internet explorer should open with nothing blocked

3) if all u wanna do is watch videos at school, then try the google hack method

go to google and type: " index of (mpg|avi|wmv) The Simpsons " without the quotation mraks, the bits in the brackest specify what type of content your after, so u can change it to mp3 or what ever, the prat after ( The Simnpsons) is what your searching..so using this it will come up with

and download webpages where u can view what u want to...u can change the part in the bracked to just audio tracks and look for a specific song.

eg: index of (mp3|wma) Eminem

Look through the reults and find one the looks resonable, such as : Index of /mp3/Eminem

You can right click it and select "Save target as" and it will download it

What i meant to say was "so using this, look through ur results, and choose on, and u should be able to view the video and download it

try the application " gpass " , tunneled applications can be added like torrents ,emails clients , browsers etc

As therealhustler mentioned, ultrasurf should do the trick. I have used it with success in my college.
