Issue 1 : IBM HDD
The issue is relevant in the attached pictures...Please refer to the same.
How do i fix the same....
Solution 1 : Getting the same hdd and replacing the PCB
Solution 2 : Get it fixed getting the connectors soldiered back again
Issue 2 : Maxtor HDD
The hdd is 'dead'. Doesn't get detected in the BIOS. But I know for sure the hdd would work if I can manage to get the PCB from another HDD. If anyone has the same hdd with multiple bad sectors / dead but detected in the bios the pcb would be atmost use for me.
How much warranty do maxtor's hold ? The date on the hdd shows 2004 , but i got it in 2005....where can i check the warranty status on the same. Although that would be my last resort as I really need the data on the hdd.
