I would suggest reconnecting the Optical drive and trying out with a better media like Verbatim or Sony at speeds ~8X.

I never burn at 16X even if i have lots of RAM and processing power to keep my data intact. Dnt know its a myth or reality but 8X looks safe to me. :)

check these things
1.lower the write speed
2.check for any firmware updates, so that any software (internal )can be refixed.
3.if above two not works, try with another Computer
if still problem arises, then go for a new one
(make sure you have good data cable/or replace the same )

Very thanks, to all of you, I am burning this blank CDs with Nero 7 Essentials >Nero STartSmart. And some months back I have checked the Writer with Soiny Drive cHeck software And it says THe drive is Working Properly, after that I haven't used if for burning cd or DVD til now.THanks once again.

I Will tell later after testing it as you guys said

check your connection cables as well as your power cables. Those might be the culprit.

You can even burn a 16X medium at 20X with the LG GH22NS50, i have done that myself.
