How to get Apple care plan for my iPad ?

I wanted to buy the apple care plan for my ipad.

But i am unable to find an online option .The soon i click any link it sends me to retail store address like croma and all.

Is it necessary to carry ipad there and upgrade it.
Or i can upgrade it via home paying online?

its not possible online.
have to visit in store.
 
I would say back up your cydia tweaks.
Restore to 6.1.2 max.
Visit apple service center with ipad
Get done with apple care.
Jb and restore cydia.
How difficult?
Max two hrs on this business but sure shot apple care.
They can refuse it on basis of jailbreak.
 
Damn pi#$ed up today.After 40 days i received sim tray from deal extreme and it doesnt fit at all in it.

I guess i need to buy it from apple store now.So i need to spend 1k just for a sim tray.

Anyways my doubt is this

Should i buy it from here online or personally visit apple care store...As said b4 mine is Jb so i feel i need to tweak with the software setup before visit.But here the offer as well as the route looks simple.

It does not matter.you need to be quick if you really want to do it.
I dont know if 6.1.2 is still signed and authorised for restore.[DOUBLEPOST=1365308337][/DOUBLEPOST]I registered mine this week.[DOUBLEPOST=1365308733][/DOUBLEPOST]All i did was contacted them with my sis iPad apple care.chat support.
Once I did with her work,i told them i need to register mine as well.
He agreed and asked two no.
My ipad serial no.and apple care agreement no.
In few minutes my warranty check showed it.[DOUBLEPOST=1365309151][/DOUBLEPOST]Problem is this

Apple stops signing the ipsw in some time after they release new iOS.
They have released 6.1.3 and for jailbreak its just 6.1.2

So confirm before restoring to iOS.
 
6.1.2 is no longer signed so if you restore it will put 6.1.3 and you won't be able to jailbreak it for now and most probably there won't be jailbreak for this version.

Raks i am downloading 6.1.2 from some OSX link.

Will i be able to upgrade from 6.1 to 6.1.2 using the downloaded file or it wont allow?

Which iPad you have ? I guess if you have blobs saved for 6.1.2 then you can update (only certain devices like iPhone 4, not sure about your iPad, only A4 devices i believe). But yes if you have iPad 3 or above then you won't be able to install 6.1.2 even after downloading IPSW of the same.

Ok ignore above...i see you are on 6.1 then don't bother updating as 6.1 is jailbreakable i believe.

Raks my problem is i need to get apple care soon(my support ends this month end) and hence i might have to visit their store.They can refuse the same to me as my device is Jb.

So either i need to downgrade or upgrade to a point which is jB.

Also most important stuff to me now is get a sim tray for my ipad 3 as the Dealextreme one is of older Ipad and it doesnt fit into it.
 
their is no support from ultrasnow or any utility for downgrade as its A5 device.
and upgrade would screw the jailbreak.
upgrade or restore will put you on 6.1.3 which is not jailbreakable.
As far as I can say,no developer will release any new jailbreak for iOS 6 and they will preserve their exploits for iOS 7 which is like one quarter away.
 
Yes i read the details now on 6.1.3 post on OSX.My bad I thought the device to be similar like psp where one can downgrade and upgrade as ones wish.
But badluck it wont work.

I will visit apple care locally on wednesday to check about the sim tray issue .
 
Okk yesterday all of a sudden i started digging details about my support and found 3 rd may to be last day of warranty.

As i had almost no option left i made visit to R city mall in ghatkopar mumbai at apple stores.

They had the apple ipad package and they quoted 4300 for the same.
Also i enquired about ipad sim tray and they were like we will call you in half an hour.

In mean time i visited reliance digital and croma.Reliance digital doesnt store any packages on contrary i came to know the apple store in the mall is of reliance itself.Than to croma they didnt had the package on the counter.On website their price was cheaper.4k around.

As i had no option after roaming around an hour again i visited the store (they didnt gave call).

And i asked for the package.Also they asked for the serial of the ipad.I gave them empty box stating my ipad is with my sis she is outof town and will not be reachable until late evening.
I got the package ,also i paid 750 for the tray which ill get after 8 days.

I went back home just did it online and within a minute it got extended just had to put serial of ipad and registration code in the package which i bought.

So my job is done.

But some point which i notice is bad customer experience or can say looks apple is bit lazy to check such mismanagements.

1:: The person said he will call me and inform about the sim tray charges as his boss wasn't picking the call.When i return his boss was around and he mentioned the charges.Than why didn't he call as said by the guy.

2:: The sales guy who was preparing my protection plan bill didn't even had a pen with him.For 3-4 minutes he was wasting time to get one and got it from his subordinate who was doing some back hardware related job sheet(this is the same guy who didn't call me even after taking my number for sim tray).

3:: Sales guy receives a call and to my amazement an apple store staff is using a Samsung mobile.Cant apple even dump their old iphone 1 or iphone 2 to its staff.When your staff itself support competitor how can you suggest your product to customer.
Even the sim tray issue handling guy was using a qwerty mobile.

4: I paid cash 750 .I handed 1000 note.And they guy said he didnt have change.I said i have it but i need it.
For 5 minutes he was running here and there and still couldn't help.I handed him 300 more and said atleast hand me a 50 rupee note over 500 bucks.Again same story.5 minutes run here and there.And later from some boss he took change and handed me over.

5:: Now the epic stuff.They didnot had the tray the counter guy said me in 4 days they will have it.His boss say count it 8.
And when i said try to courier it to my address .They say we cant you have to personally come and collect it.
As if i have time just to waste to come to your store burning 100 rupee gasoline since you can t arrange for 25 rupee courier.

Now a company which has 5 lakh crore rupee cash in balance sheet. And this way a customer is treated i understand what can i expect from companies like Micro-max and better buy a cheapo product and dump it .

(I have a gut feeling it has to do with Reliance as it handles this store.I dont think Redington and Ingram Micro will go to such miser type attitude level).

I believe that if it would have been a real apple store as in Apple themselves managing like in USA/UK etc, your experience would have been far far better but there are some of these subsidary type stores (Reliance etc) who have the usual mentality that it is their right to make customer beg for each and everything.

I have been visiting rsg i stores for.my troubles with apple stuff.
So far they have been pretty nice and upto the mark.

Its to do with reliance and the classic Indian service mentality.

Glad that you managed to fix up the apple care.

If thats the case ill pray Reliance retail end keeps going in loss so they get thrown out of the business.

Pratik Thanks.And sorry dude i cant inform you about the care plan.It all happened because it totally went out of my head and when i digged i found just a day left and i wasnt sure whether they need ipad in hand to check JB or not.If i had knew it would had been that simple i would had got your package.
