hey guys... I'm a n00b to this stuff... Can anyone guide me how to get this kind of mail address

name@yourname.com

actually, i want at least 4-5 email IDs at this name with around 1gb for each ID
I've seen many login pages for such YOURNAME ids same login page as GMAIL page... How is that possible??

What would be the cost? how to setup...??

Please Guide...

that is not a big issue.... I can spend 1000 bucks an year not more than this... but how to do???

You've seen login pages which are looking like Gmail, thats because they use Google apps. (google.com/a)

1) Purchase a domain name
2) Login to cPanel & change MX address to Google apps. (Because you'll be using Google apps)
3) Thats it.

Try it, its easy.
 
Many sites like GODADDY and MITSU.in are offering domain names but godaddy is offering for Rs. 366 and mitsu for Rs. 170...??? is this a fraud???? Can you guide me to the best website for buying domains???

also... Can i create Unlimited mail IDs and how much space would i get???

I have 2 domains with godaddy and i'm pretty satisfied with their service. Their cpanel us intuitive and simple. So i would recommend godaddy.

And regarding email ids, it depends on the number you give during subscription of google apps. They will ask for how many users you intend to use...give a number like 10000... :P And with googlr apps you would get same space as gmail...and that space would keep on increasing like gmail... :)
 
hey konqueror bro... if i enter 10000... will there be additional charges?? also... the r charging 366/year... is it true or some hidden charges??

^^^While purchasing domain, don't take anything extra...just buy domain...and yes...youh have to renew you domain every year...so you will have to pay Rs361/- per year....and google apps is free...so you won't be charged anything extra for creating 100 or 1000 email addresses...so total cost per year is Rs361/-...to build a website you have to look for domain hosting..many free host are available...i use one free host called http://freehostia.com...other smilar one is http://awardspace.com...there are many..just google for it...
 
^^There are many free hosts, but are they reliable ? First time heared names of these 2 sites, so hows your experience with them ? Just want a very short review :)

One free host that I use is byethost.com, so far had a very good experience. Very reliable and great uptime.

Well they are kind of ok...don't allow php mail function and there is a limitation of 2MB per file...uptime is pretty ok...they provide one click installation of joomla, drupal, phpbb, wordpress etc. etc.

No one is fraud.

Selling price is according to cost price+some profit.

For someone, cost price is less, so they less at lower price. Some wants to make less profit, so again their selling price is less.

You can try:

1) http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/group/index.html

2) http://domains.live.com/

Activation is almost instant as soon as DNS is updated.

To use these free email service you will need DNS management service of the domain name. Many domain seller give it free, many charge for it.

If you buy webhosting with your domain name, your web hosting company should add required DNS.
 
Bought a domain from GODADDY for Rs. 366 per year... :D

Added domain to Google Apps FREE edition and got 50 Mail addresses which is much more than enuf :ohyeah:

As far as i know, they give only 50 mail ids and if you need more , you gotta use the premier edition. 50$ per user per year :S
I dont think they asked me for the number of ids i want..

Initially there was an option to request for more number of emails. But now they have removed that option. In my account I can create about 100 email ids. :)
