CPU/Mobo How to identify venice core version.

How do I verify whether I am getting the 'venice core' version of Athlon64 3000+. Will it be written on the box? Thx.

By the BP or BW prefix on the processor number which is visible through the plastic window in the amd boxed packet .. get the BW's they r with the updated e6 stepping.
ADA3000AAA4BW i think it would be something like this.

You dont have to worry about your 3000+, as you mostly get venice nowadays..

In 64bit product of AMD, OPN shows the specifications such as the voltages and the ratings clocks.

Specification of 64bit CPUs of AMD

The specification of 64bit processor of AMD is displayed on the surface of CPU package by the OPN code.

When looking for the latest Dual-Core product, OPN is important. Because the display named Dual-Core is not in marking of CPU. It is signs such as 6CD or 5BV of the end of OPN that show that it is Dual-Core in the marking. Please read the OPN code to obtain more detailed information of the generation, power consumption, and the L2 cash size etc. of CPU.

A : T_Case/ Permissible temperature upper bound when CPU works.
6 : L2 Cache/ Level 2 cash size.
CD : Part Definition/ The alphabet including Revision information.
