How to incorporate subs in a mp4 file?

I have mp4 movie but subs are provided as separate .srt file. How to merge them with mp4 file? OR how to view this separate subs while playing my mp4 thru WDTV?

Just rename the subtitle file to the filename of the movie ie if the movie's name is abc.mp4, rename the subtitle file to abc.srt and put it in the same folder as the movie file.

play it in vlc player there is a option so that it detects subtitles if present...
