Easiest way would be to make an image of c:, and transfer to to new drive. This way you wouldnt need to reinstall anything.
Use norton ghost or Acronis trueimage.

Acronis True Image is very good for what you want to do. If you are buying another 80gb drive than just make a mirror image of the original drive. You will not have to reinstall anything. But if you transfer only a partition from one drive to another than there is a good chance that Windows will not boot from the new drive. This happens with both Ghost as well as True Image. There seems to be a bug in Windows which sometimes (not always) does not allow the OS to boot when only the OS Partition is copied from one drive to another.

Would it be possible for me to reinstall Xp onto the new disk?? then.. format C: in my old disk? and reinstall all my old software???

cause... windows and my software.. seem to be eating into my 10GB partion...

I have allready moved all my latest programs to a different partion... but still... C: keeps getting filled..

Thanks

^^If you only have a single physical hard drive, it'll be suicidal. when you format C:, u'll end up deleting ntldr, boot.ini, and the other boot loader files making your newly installed partition unbootable. Just move all the important stuff u have in C and then format and reinstall in C itself.

As Eazy said, just Clone the disk using Ghost/Acronis True Image. That will create an exact replica of your earlier drive to your new drive-with all your OS and Applications.

You don't need to reinstall if you are cloning the disk. All programmes will work without reinstal.

You can then set your new drive as the boot drive and can format your old drive.

I think I get what you want to do  - you want to basically use your current Windows installation but on a larger partition..... RIGHT ?

NO PROBLEM......

Install Acronis True Image - make a Bootable CD with Acronis - boot from this CD and make a backup image file of the original drive to another HDD. Re partition and format your original drive using the XP install CD's Recovery Console to the new sizes and then booting with Acronis CD restore the backup image to the original drive. Acronis can backup and restore multiple partitions.

yea Thats Right... I was a bit tired when I made my last post... sorry for the confussion...:ashamed:
So.. what I got to do.. is to make a image of my current C drive.. and transfer it to My new disk.. and make the new disk the Primary one(I dont know the correct word... )

Is that right??

Thanks!
