Laptops How to know maximum Ram supported by Laptop?

Hi Gurus,

I habe a Sony Viao Laptop , I want to Upgrade its RAM to 12GB or 16 GB ..?

Is this possible..please let me know how to check the maximum amount of RAM that my Laptop would support ?

You can check either your laptop manual or online datasheet memory section for maximum memory support. I don't think normal laptops support upto 32GB.

If you need 32GB memory models then it will be mobile workstations and they are little bit heavier.
Yes, Dell Precision M6600 supports/comes with 32GB memory and it will cost around 75-80k.

I think you can add more memory as its a function of the CPU and not chipset anymore for the intel core series. However, above 8GB per channel, it becomes extremely expensive.

You serious ? Dell M6600 starts 1lakh+ its a mobile workstation , not sure about second hands
