how to know which region blu ray works on my ps3??help

guys,

my bro bought a ps3...though i know all games are region free in ps3..i have no idea about blu ray/dvds....are they region free too, if not how to find out which region the blu ray plays.

he got his ps3 from bangkok..and the serial number is cech-2501b.

@destiny not able find it on the box....and @punker thanks...and jus got some info abt it too..it seems since my serial number last two digits are 01 its region A...and am lucky that its region A...blu rays are quite cheap in usa. :D
 
if u can jailbreak ur ps3, then every region blu-ray movie with work with a homebrew patcher for blu ray movies. i am watching USA region blu-ray movie on EU region ps3.
U just need to run LV2 patcher before watching another region movie. this does not apply to dvd movies.
