Hello guys I installed new Kingston SSDNow V100 128 GB SSD Internal Hard Drive to my existing PC setup,
its working and really fast..

now I have a doubt, Is it possible to migrate the windows installation files without re-installing windows.??

It is possible, but it's really recommended that you take the extra little effort and do a fresh installation to avoid any errors of any kind.

Thats not a problem.. i just want to try it out..
If you know the steps for migrating windows without re-installing,, pls post it...

there's a thread running on upgrading harddrives wihout reinstalling windows, search and readup, should be the same!

If you switch the port operating mode to AHCI you may not be able to boot off the SSD, and if not you will lose a significant amount of performance. If it is already set to AHCI migration is painless and risk-free. Any cloning program can do it for you, and so can Windows (7) by using its recovery utility and a drive image. There are enough step-by-step instructions available online.
