my config is in my signature.

The problem is the speakers have two wires to be connected as output a black one and a green one. on the motherboard though only the green connection is available.
So only 2 channels is activated. tried everything in sound manager settings but could not get all channels activated. Had a Aureal vortex 8830 sound card of my old Pc which had both the required outputs. but there is no driver support for this card on 64 bit xp and vista versions. so please suggest me a cost effective method to activate all 4 channels. Am using an audio multilpier currently but the output is not that great to my previous sound card.

Also will be helpful if anybody can get drivers for Aureal Vortex2 8830 drivers for 64 bit xp or vista.

hey

you hav 2 options ....

1) Buy a connector which would have 2 inputs( in which u plug in the black and green wire ) and 1 output (which u plug into your onboard sound card).
would b a cheap soln..

2) Buy a creative sound card ... :-)

yeah using a connector but output doesnt seem to be satisfactory any othe roption for sound card upto 0.5Kto 750 rs

your mobo must be having 5.1 output support. The Gigabyte G31 have realtek chipset which have reassignable outputs so you should not worry about the colour of sockets.Just plug both the cable in & assign one as front out & the other as rear out.

yea you can buy Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 for Rs.700 (Way better than onboard audio)

but Creative Audigy Value for Rs.1450 is recommended for superior quality.
