that i have already read... but i wanted something which tells step by step procedure for a 8800GTS 640 model yar !
not a generalised one.....
for eg: like someone bought ONE and OC`d it..... something like that

and anyways in the above 2 links...
nothing is said specifically about 8 series but only till 6 series... toh was confused tat how to move ahead !
hence if u got something like a guide to MOD or OC a 8800GTS 640 plz let me know

Riva is supported on Vista ? They r usually slow in updation.

Plus the new nVidia forceware for Vista is not completly supported by Riva.

well...
looooked at many sites .
but there is no overclocking guide to be found to OC a 8800 GTS.
if someone has done it here.. can they help me do it?
plz help out !

You need not look for specifics for 8800Gts

nVidia GPUs overclocks much as the same way in all series.
Now the question is how much can your hardware/card can handel.

To test this follow any advance guide to over nVidia GPU its pretty much the same here. The upper level values would change depending upon the heatsink memory latency etc etc of the individual card.

As any guide would tell you .. u must overclock step by step till you reach ur limits... once done you can further tweak ur card with diffrent memory clock speed and gpu speed combinations with the safe values.

nVidia forceware drivers with nVidia Tunes give you the interface to overclock ur GPU etc. In ur on XP some nVidia drivers need some registry edits to unlock advance overclocking menus.

just use rivatuner(it works on vista too)

For Overclocking > in driver settings choose customize - system settings then check enable driver level overclocking , increase the memory and clock frequencies in small increments keep an eye on the temperatures and run 3dmark or use ati tool(doesn't work in vista) to scan for any artifacts

For in-game temperature monitoring and fan control refer to these guides ...
