How to print a scanned painting

Hello friends,
I have an old oil painting soft copy (should be scanned with high fidelity). the pixel shown by windows is 4016 X 5400. How to determine the best print size? Is the print size depends on the printer resolution?
If I open it in my Dell monitor, (sets for 1920 X 1200) with 100% zoom, the image comes up to 58 inches X 43 inches(measuring using a scale with screen scrolling). But I guess this size might be slighly more since my monitor pixel size matters. Its a 25 inch monitor. So its only 96 pixels per inch (considering 1200 as vertical )
Using some tips from internet, 300 dots per inch, will give only 13 X 18 inch print size.
I am looking for optimum reproduction of this image viewable from half meter onwards.
What kind of printing I need to look for this?
