Hey Everyone,

I am looking to get a macbook shipped from a friend in Mumbai, he has the original packing, its a 15" macbook pro, but both of us are not really sure about which courier and what type of packing we should do, what would be safe and budget friendly.

Any advice please? Would be sent from Mumbai to Kolkata.

Thanks!

For packaging two things need to be made sure;
- item does not move much inside packaging
- item has enough cushion to withstand rough handling; you can create frame of thermocol for shock absorbing

For shipping I would suggest spend some extra bucks and get insurance on shipping.

I once shipped my Macbook Air. Just bubble wrapped the original packing. The original packing is designed in such a way that the Macbook won't move an inch inside.
I used DTDC Plus with insurance.

so the original packing with bubble wrap, and nothing more outside of that?

you can arrange private charter flight to get the macbook delivered :)

once i had sent a macbook pro top most config to one of my frd in delhi, just covered it with plain paper, sent via DHL, the box reached there without a single scratch in the box

Yup. Nothing more. That's the way even Apple move their product around. The bubblewrap was only for the protection of the box.
