Hello everyone ,

So this is my friends requirement. He is doing some course and his tuition is on ZOOM meeting. Now he wants to record this meeting to revise concepts at a later date.

Is there any method to record the session so that the same can be viewed later on?

If you want another software use OBS but that's overkill.

A basic recording function is all that is required. So the inbuilt tool is good enough.

You can use shadowplay if his computer uses nvidia GPU or relive if AMD GPU otherwise you can use OBS or record through Xbox game bar as enthusiast29 said.

Why not record using zoom itself. I mean all classes are generally recorded in teams, zoom etc. in my institute.

You generally need to have host rights for that, especially institutional links

Yes the permissions need to be there, but in general the faculty himself starts the recording as many students refer to it later. So maybe ask the teacher himself?

The teacher had intentionally NOT allowed recording. So was looking for something to record.

Also my friend is using Intel graphics so no shadowplay / relive for him. The XBOX record function is fine for him. Just a single issue is that the recorded file is huge in size.

An hour of video is close to 3 GB. Any ideas for reducing the file size?

Change codec to x265? Will take time to reencode though.
