How to register a domain anonymously?

So I need to register a domain for someone(internet handicap) anonymously. Its a website about sexual awareness, and the person wants that it should be anonymous for obvious reasons(hey this is India!). Being an NGO, the funds are low too. So the minimum that can be spared.

This being a genuine case, and I really hope to get some good suggestions here instead of cat calling.

The options that I see are -
1) Privacy protect etc from namecheap etc
2) Give fake details(but payment can be traced right?)
3) Register a free tld. (how reliable are these?) Some details please? What are the problems that come with them?
 
You just need to go for privacy protection service from the registrar if all you want is to hide the details from the public. I don't think any popular registrar will give the customer details to some random third party and they would be least bothered what kind of website you are running.

So just go for a good registrar like Namecheap and opt for their privacy protection service.
 
This one of the reasons I really love Namecheap. They give free WhoisGuard with every domain. Your phone number, email address and postal address is replaced with Namecheap's address. If any mail is forwarded to the Namecheap's given email address, it will be forwarded to you. It even hides your name I believe.

A couple of things to note though. WhoisGuard is not available for all domains. Namecheap recently started selling .in domains as well which is great, but WhoisGuard is not available for it. You won't have a problem if you're using .com/.net/.org or other common domains.
Namecheap is slightly more expensive than other registrars. But none provide free Whoisguard. Some do provide the service at an additional cost I believe.

Btw, if any authority asks Namecheap for the info if the concerned website has offend-able content on it, I believe they will be required to give your info. Whoisguard will only hide you from the public database.
 
Namecheap doesn't do a lot of discounts. Though they do have some coupon always running. I think their FB page or twitter account gives out a coupon every month.
Not sure about godaddy, but I think you will find just by doing a google search.
