Budget 71-90K How to remove the firmware lock in a Macbook

Hi Experts,
Need your input here, please.

I have a Macbook 2019 given to me by the client.

After the project ended the client didn't take back the laptops from us. I secretly felt excited about the fact that I was the owner of a Macbook for free. :)

Now I have left that company and joined another company and want to use the Macbook for my personal use.

However, there is a firmware lock set due to which I cannot log in. I went to an Apple Service Centre and they said that they can unlock it but they would need the invoice.

I don't have the invoice as it was shipped from the US by the client. I researched and found that if we replace the MFI Chip and reload iOS it would be fine.

Has anyone done this before? Is there any other method by which I can reset the firmware lock ?

Try booting into MacOS recovery mode and then delete the drives and create a new one all over again. Re-install the OS and see if that breaks the firmware lock for you.
EDIT: My bad. Just checked. Firmware lock restricts you from accessing recovery mode.
