hello,

Yesterday my BSNL connection was weak so I tried cahnging my DNS s\from OpenDNs to normal BSNL by "Obtain DNS server automatically" but now when I boot my PC a active LAN connection shows up without conecting manually and when connected two LAN ICONS show on the taskbar,I have 1394 conection,LAN and BSNL on my Network connnection.(1394 is inactive). So how to delete the other LAN icon as shown .The two connection show active blinking of blue and black color.http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad346/Abhishek15/twoIcons-crop.jpg?t=1292482228

Its simple. One of the icon is for your lan card and the other one for the dial up bsnl connection.
Go into network connections in control panel.

Here both the connections will be listed. Select any connection you want, right click, properties.
here UNCHECK "Show icon in notification area when connected", Ok.

that's it. :D

You can disable both the icons or any other network connection icons from here as you want.
