Looking for services that allow me to send a cake to my sisters place in US for her birthday. Please point me to any such service providers. Need to be able to pay by Credit card. (PayPal is not an option). I am myself in Hyderabad and sis is in Cleveland.

^^ first link, I already checked, the site isn't giving me any option to place order.
Second link is only giving me option to choose locations in India for delivery.

@Lord Nemesis

I think this is their USA shop: http://www.usacakeshop.com/

But it's better to go as mpaspc suggested. Find a local bakery online (there are many in US who can be contacted such way) and see whether they can arrange for a cake delivery.

Thanks guy's for the links... anyway, dropped the whole idea of sending a cake after talking with Sis.

There is an orphanage where me and sis regularly donate for sponsoring the education of the children and other needs. So, as per my sisters wishes, going to sponsor a Easter special meal for the children. My sis and I myself felt that it is a much better way to spend that money compared to sending a over priced cake which we are not even sure would be deemed edible by my sis. My sis would anyway be getting a cake or two from her colleagues in US.

Spending 2000 rupee in India for cake seems cheap, and at the same time spending 40-50$ on cake in US seems costly, lolzz :D

A decent cake does not cost more than 500 Rs in India. In fact it costs roughly around the same in my Sisters city in US. But the cost for sending a cake from India to US is working out to 6000 Rs, not anywhere close to 2000Rs.

i generally pay in the range of 1800-2200 for a 2KG cage, damm is the bakery person cheating me ? ? :eek:.

also, i use to run some bakery affiliates last year, their rates were quite cheap, still cant remember it :(

Depends on what kind of cake you're buying. A normal birthday cake of 1kg costs around 400-700 depending on what it is. The fancy ones can go up to even a few grand.

^^ Well, for starters I was talking about a 1Kg cake which costs 350~500/- roundabouts here if purchased in at a good bakery. You can get a decent 2Kg cake for 700~1000/- tops.
2000/- for a 2Kg cake is quite a bit on the high side and I guess you are being charged more for the bakery brand rather than the quality of the cake.

That's subjective . He lives in a Not so Central place so may be there are very few shops .
In delhi a Hygenic and Ok bakery sells it around 500-550Rs/ Kg . Heck even a cake at Le meridian is at 2200 for about 1.5 Kg . You surely are over paying by large amounts .

^^ Exactly, prices (especially for bakery products) are higher in the big cities. In smaller cities or towns, a they would cost less.

Anyway, just for information for all, 6500/- is what the orphanage needs to give 80~90 children a good non-veg feast.
