How to set Parental Lock for visiting explicit websites on Internet?

Hi

I want to set lock or ban the the explicit websites of all kinds.

Be its P0rn or nudity or any thing else related to this.

It should be capable of handling all types of browsers installed on pc like chrome, IE, firefox or opera.

If you want to block specific websites then modifying the hosts file will do the trick. But if you want to block anything and everything related to p0rn etc then i suggest getting some sort of parental control software.
 
I believe the easiest way is to install Windows Live Family Safety and select the desired the security level.
after selecting the appropriate level, if some one type nude pics in google will not able to see anything. It works best with limited accounts as administrator account has privileges to change the security level
 
If this is for home, move the PC into a common area + regulate access times. Simplest solution that doesn't need any technical wizardy :P

Exactly , move the pc in living room.

I don't know know what OS you are using but you can set the *nix firewall to restrict the internet usage for specific time interval. Plus with command over host.conf file you can easily block all the sites you want to (but that ain't a solution since there are many p0rn sites :P).

On windows your best bet will be parental software that comes now as an integrated part of many antivirus/internet security.

I have only one account on Win XP.
Just simply on the system & here you go to do anything.
I didn't find any installer for Windows Live Family Safety.

Single home pc for personal use.

Sorry can't do that limitation of 1 bhk :(
If i will do that, then I have to compete with Television !!

Do you think changing only DNS server addresses would be sufficient ?
 
Sufficient, but its not foolproof. it depends on their database. sites not in their database open without issues.

It is free for personal use and is a very good software. You could block or allow various category of websites in it. It works on all type of browsers installed on your PC.
If you want to browse some p0rn yourself :P then it have the option to disable the filter temporary with the help of master password.
No one could disable the protection without the master password. It would also send you email notifications if there would be any change in protection status.
But keep your email account access secure. If anyone have the access your email account, it could easily be disabled. It also keeps the logs of websites browsed on your PC.
