Graphic Cards How to test a GFX Card

How does one check weather a GFX card is good or bad... I mean dying or not... As you all might have read the thread http://www.techenclave.com/forums/can-card-artifact-due-low-power-67616.html ... I have just received the card from Mohit and it is running fine as of now in my rig... Tell me how to find out weather it is dying or not as it is very important... All i am doing right now is running 3dmark loop for a while and letting it run that... Tell me what else should i do...

Well,

I think for Mohit it was a Low Power problem.

My CPU bottlenecks becoz of Low Power as well. (Damn Antec! Why Delay Imports :@)

Anyways, theres so sure shot way of knowing. Unless, the picture is all distorted, and the card keeps going on and off, if you get what i mean.
 
try some sandra stress benchmarking and umm yea games at full 16x aa and 8x af with 1280 *xxx res and see what it does play for a hour or so.
 
Tried Some CSS with 1024 and everything Maxed...













Now if somebody will be kind enough to tell me how to take some screen shots in NFS:MW as thats the only other game installed in my office PC :P...

Also good idea Zhop... Downloading that utility...
 
FRAPS is all you need to take screenshots.

And yes Rthdribl will artifact way earlier than even some games if card is not able to hold it.

There are plenty of reasons for artifacting, but if its artifacting in bios on one system and not on other then it can be narrowed down to power issue or compatability issue with that perticular mobo.
 
Here are some shots and i am keeping it running for a while... Lets say about 45-60 mins or so...





Fuky do you think the temps are normal... Also the Real time HDR is still running in the back ground with no artifacts/freezing whatsoever...
 
72C is nothing to be worried about on these cards.

In Rthdribl if its gona artifact it starts with sparkling things and then spreads all over the screen. So its not easy to miss ;)

What mobo does mohit have?
 
Mohit is on DFI Ultra D if i remember correctly... I was just speaking to him over the phone and briefed him about the card...

Anyways... My action plan is to run 3Dmark 2005 Throughout the Night on this card...

I request you to test this card to the max tonight .. I dunno why its not artifacting on your pc .. well and we both are using the same board i.e DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 ULTRA D .. anyways I have posted for a new PSU also in the market section and this time ill test it with a new PSU on my rig. I am looking at the guide on testing a PSU right now in the Guides n Tuts section. Will kep you updated if my PSU turns out to be faulty.
 
Well its been 2 Hours now since its Rthdribling... I am going to let it happen throughout the night... I have connected the PC to my 14 monitor and i have setted it to fullscreen and letting it run throughout the night... Tomorrow morning the verdict will be out... BTW Mohit... You will owe me some eletricity bill :P...
 
Okey... I ran RTHDRIBL for approximately 8 Hours straight and it worked fine... According to me the card is working just fine :)...
