OC & Modding How to tighten Corsair Vengeance timing?

Guys, A few days ago I bought a 4GB kit(2X2GB, 9-9-9-24) of corsair vengence rams for my sandy bridge setup. My cpu is 2500k & motherboard P67A-UD3R-B3. I overclocked the cpu to 4.5Ghz by feeding 1.25v & it's fully stable. Bu I can't tighten my ram timinings. The memory modules are of 1.5volts and their default timing is 9-9-9-24. I tried to change the timinig manually to 8-8-8-24 but it caused No booting. I bumped up the voltage to 1.65 but no luck. what's the problem? Vengeance is a performance series ram & it's timing should be tightenble. What\s my fault?

the best i have heard vengeance do is 8-9-8-31 at 1600mhz. try that. u can increase frequency to 1866 mhz at a higher latency. try 9-10-9-11 at 1866mhz. increase nb voltage also at same time

Even Gskill's CL9 ripjaw's X can do 8-8-8-24 easily. So, We can say that corsair's Vengeance is inferior to the Gskill's ripjaws X.

not necessarily.. gskill cl9 doesn't do 8-8-8-24 very well at 1600mhz. only very few people got it at 1600mhz.. if u want u can lower it to 1333mhz and can get 8-8-8-24 easily. u can also get cl7 if u try hard at that speed.

further latency is more neccesary for video editing than gaming. it will not make much difference in gaming

vengeance can do upto 1866 if pushed and even higher.. and further u can attempt 1600mhz at 1T...:D

Actually the XMS3 does 1600 @ 1.5v but the timings can't be tightened any further. But either way, the Vengenance is a good 400~500+ over the XMS3 and thats the only difference?

IMO, I feel that the Vengenance and the XMS3 share the same ram chips. But exactly like what AMD does, they must be putting the higher quality chips in the Vengenance sticks and selling them at a slight premium.

With stock 1.5volts I could 8-8-8-20 @1333mhz at best. But this timing isn't possible @1600mhz. Even with 1.65volts pc don't boot with 8-8-8-24 @1600mhz.
