How to transfer money from US to India

What are the options available for India to US\Canada transfers? Which option puts all the extra charges on the sender (as opposed to deducting it from the amount sent).
If they have to send 600$ then you wont get full 600$ in hand. Just forget atleast 100$ as some of it goes for conversion and some of it paypal fees. So take it approximately as 500$ in hand. You can immediately except the request in paypal of 600$. So it comes in yr paypal account in just a second after the deduction of paypal fees. Once it is in your paypal account then you could transfer in your bank account which takes 3-4 week days and if weekend comes in between then 7 days approximately and at that time the conversion fees from dollars to Indian rupees get deducted.
This info is wrong. Paypal fees is only 3.9% + $0.30 for every transaction. By that rate, if you send $600, the receiver will receive at least $575.
That's the very reason i asked. In any service one would not lose like 100$ out of the 600$ transferred. That is just absurd.
Does PayPal add money to transactions now? I always thought they subtracted fees from amount.
