Guys I have an iphone with firmware version 1.1.1 .
I want to upgrade it to firmware version 1.1.4.

Please enlighten me on the update process ....what would be the tools required ..?

Would i lose my data (contacts, music, sms etc. ) ?

Get the latest itunes 7.6 than back up all your contacts, music etc..

Than update your firmware to 1.1.4 with itunes and than unlock, jailbrake and activate it with application called

Ziphone 2.5:hap2:

Are u 101 % sure about this........will i lose my stuff on upgrade ?

Sync everything before upgrading. Your contacts, calendar entries, SMS, settings, etc will stay when you re-sync from the backup after upgrading.,

You will obviously loose your apps and will have to reinstall them.

You don't lose your contacts,SMS etc when you upgrade but everything will be wiped out when you restore. But better have a backup

Considering the questions he is asking, I highly doubt he has even jailbroken, hence there will be no apps to loose.

To the orginal poster, read the iPhone sticky and other iphone threads before doing anything, you might downgrade bootloader with Ziphone 2.5 and regret later. There are other ways to unlock now without downgrading bootloader or using Ziphone 2.5.

Also its recommended to restore rather than upgrade, syncing after restoring is not a good idea, except perhaps contacts, lost of people ahave been reporting issues after syncing back their settings etc, better to set up as new phone
