Hi Guys

I have just installed Ubuntu 6.10 in my VMware virtual machine can someone
please guide me how to use AIGLX in Ubuntu.

A Step By Step Guide or a link for the same will do.

Also mention the list of softwares required for it.

Also is that cube type interface and the transparency effect available thru AIGLX only.

Found this link.

- Install Beryl on Ubuntu Edgy with AIGLX - Beryl Wiki
- XGL-Ubuntu - cchtml.com

Some more links with screenshots & list of files to download will really help.

It's already present by default I think. What hardware do you have? AIGLX rarely works on ATI's drivers.

What is the problem with the links you've posted. I haven't seen them, but is there something missing that you need clarified?

Pretty sure. I heard that AIGLX and beryl are default in 6.10

But you will definitely need drivers.

Why do you need screenshots? The process is all command based.

Just follow the tutorials, it is quite straightforward, and if you fail, there is usually no consequence.

i am using beryl + aiglx + ubuntu6.10 on my 6600gt.

Thanks bro will give it a try , also whats the method for Fedora 6.

Ah, I would avoid XGL on FC6 with ATI. I have faced problems. It installs well, but runs incredibly slow. It is possible your card won't face that problem, but mine does. FC5 on the same computer runs XGL beautifully.
