How to use Bitorrent over proxy: Help ASAP!!

hi there,

I am accessing net on my Laptop through wireless LAN... I am runnin Vista

It uses the following ports and proxy

proxy: 192.168.0.1

port 8080

now the prob is while I can use ie and mozilla with these settings, Bit torrent and bitcomet, azeurus, limewire are not working!

Can anyone tell me what are the proper settings for Bittorrent or azeurus...

You need a SOCKS proxy. AFAIK torrents don't work on HTTP proxies. The HTTP proxy will be used to retrieve peer list, nothing more. Why are you using a proxy anyway? Setup proper internet sharing on your router(assuming it's not the office router) :P
 
he he I got It I think but the results are not satisfactory.....
guys we gotta use "http tunnel", a tunnel that uses http to get a socks connection

download their client and the service is also free... the problem is It is very slow..... Normally I can download files at 400-500 kbps but with tunnel and using high health torrents, I get around 2-6 kbps :(

anyways fr thos planning to use it:

> try and use bitspirit
> fr me limewire,frostwire not working: emule, Dc++ workin

It is worth a try, if u get better results, then do help me too
 
Use socks proxy. Try this software cygwin.
Use BitComet and configure it according to your HTTP Proxy.
Make sure you cap the limits..or else you'll suck up entire pipe...lolz
 
i think u shud give a try to "Proxyway"

cool soft for ip tunneling as well as masking ip

after getting the soft , get a list o SOCKS proxy servers and use it...

i thnk this will do..
