How to use net-banking?

I am a n00b at this, can't figure out or am too scared to do this on my own. I have a SBI account btw and need to figure out how to transfer funds to other accounts on the same bank and also other banks' accounts. Any help would be appreciated.
 
^ u wud have been provided a customer id and bankng cum transaction password , plus u need to have the transactions rights enabled for doing transactions , they r not given by default by sbi , u shud request them , after having done that , u just need to follow the on screen instructions watever u get from the sbi internet banking webpage
 
1. log in

2. click transfer funds(choose SB group or NEFT accordingly )

3. Give the details

4. Confirm it using the txn pwd and all.

5. The SMS will be send to ur phone. its the confirmation code.

6. Confirm the payee

7. Thats it.

Check the accnt number and name before entering. If either one is not correct the money will be credited BACK to ur accnt.

provided there is not a accnt with ur wrong details given. chances are very less. but it could happen
 
you have to visit your branch office to get a Customer id & password activated on your account, then you also have to verify your Mobile number for any transaction, addition of 3rd party & any transfer of funds as you need SMS based Security verification to protect your account from misuse.
 
So the steps are:

1. Apply for internet banking at SBI.

2. Get the login details.

3. Login

4. Transfer funds to proper account. (Can I transfer to an account of another bank too, other than SBI?)

That's it right? I'll apply for internet banking tomorrow, do they provide the login details there itself, or I have to wait?
 
^ you have to wait for atleast 2 weeks.... they will send you customer ID and Log In password(within 2 weeks) and after 4 days Transaction password.....
 
Get the id and password and PM it to me, I'll do the rest :lol:

see if your branch has younger officers/clerks, they usually know about this, they can help you out.
 
Getting Internet Banking activated at SBI was no hassle, it took 20 mins at max. I went to the receptionist and inquired about it, he showed me to a counter, the counter guy gave me a form to fill, I filled it and submitted it, he asked me to wait for 5 mins and after 5 mins he gave me a sealed letter with my id and password and said that the account will be activated by tomorrow. The SBI staff were very helpful, didn't expect this.

there should be option under "Funds Transfer" like Transfer to Other Bank Accounts. I use ICICI so I have no idea what SBI net banking page looks like but it should be same in my opinion.

If there is no option, contact SBI. Some banks require you to fill additional forms to activate funds transfer.
