Sadly, all the drivers for V3000/3100 series are not listed on HP website, if u have one, u will know.

Had a hell of problem finding the drivers for audio and chipset, HP website does not list all the drivers and read many forums but no help. Finally found them in HP's ftp server. a post on sum forum helped, i cant find it now. but ask me if u plan on getting one and have similar driver problems.

How to download from HP's ftp server:
the ftp is "ftp://ftp.hp.com"
all the files that I am talking about here are present in "ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/"

all the files are named with numbers, like sp33549.exe, sp33471.exe etc... kept in folders in groups of 500, for example al folder named "sp33501-34000" will contain any file named between sp33501.exe - sp34000.exe. so if u want to download suppose sp33549.exe, it lies between sp33501-sp34000, so go to folder sp33501-34000 and u will find the file, in this case "ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33549.exe" will be the file. Now below is what u have to download.

The drivers:
I suggest you download and install them in the order they are mentioned here, you cannot just install the last thing first, or things will not work.

1. nVidia nForce chipset driver
sp33031.exe

2. nVidia GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver
sp33549.exe

3. AMD Processor update for Windows XP
sp33499.exe

4. Microsoft UAA Bus driver for high definition audio
sp32646.exe

5. Conexant High definition audio
sp33470.exe

6. Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax model with SmartCP driver
sp33839.exe

7. Ricoh 5-in-1 card reader host controller and driver
sp33020.exe

8. Broadcom wireless LAN driver
sp34152.exe

9. Synaptics Touchpad
sp33751.exe
Here ends the necessary drivers for V3155, but let me complete the list for all Compaq Presario V3000/V3100 series notebooks.

i m using compaq pesario v3335tu, which came preloaded with VISTA but i want to use XP but aving probblem in getting all drivers done, to my dissatisfaction the HP COMPAQ site dont have all the req drivers, can u suggest me which one i need to download from HP FTP. My soundcard is not detected by XP despite installing Microsoft UAA and then conexant drivers.
 
hi, it has Intel chipset, make sure u install chipset drivers first, then bus driver, then Conexant High definition audio. If this does not work. Maybe things work differently for Intel chipset. About downloading from the ftp site I've mentioned how to look for file, u will need to search the files though.

i want to use xp in my V3000 but unable to find the drivers in the hp web sire. Could u plz suggest where can i get the drivers?
 
Just go to HP Compaq site . Then go to some of the older V3000 models and go into the XP drivers section and hunt down the SPXXX.exe drivers that were mention in the original POST.

Note, you will be going into many many different v3000 models to find each of those drivers. Annoying I know.
