Laptops HP dv5 or Dell Studio 15

Hi
Have shortlisted 2 laptops - HP dv5 series or Dell Studio 15.
(havent decided the exact config. but the above choices would give an idea)
Really confused guys which one to buy.
From the posts here HP seems to have hardware and service related problems.
in terms of build and quality which one would be a better choice??
Please suggest.. :huh:
 
HP has gone really bad in the past two years.

I would recommend a Dell any day because of their after sales service. HP used to be great in this department 3 years back from now. Dunno what's happened since they took over Compaq..

Anyway , go with a Dell you won't regret it. :)
 
I own a HP dv5-1015tx. I bought it on 23 August 2008. It has been used so far for 2579 hours (out of the total 5664 hours), ie, an average of 11 hours per day. It didn't give me any problems so far. I use it for lot of gaming, mainly GTA4, GOW, Burnout Paradise, Spore, and sometimes Crysis.
 
i know its one of the nice machines but not available anymore and when u purchased it. It was one of the best deal now that config with 1221tx with blueray is not worth as old processor and ram even 5400 rpm hdd and price 66k
 
from my observations dell laptop get more problems(like CD drive/hinge supporting screen/sound no so good etc. etc..but dell has good after sale service, HP laptops get less problems..No idea about servicing for a faulty part/replacement, but one of my friend has spilled the coffee on compaq laptop keyboard, some keys stopped working, he got it serviced for free within 2 days.. other then that i've seen only one other person giving his compaq laptop for servicing..whatever it was but he got it repaired.. for dell almost 50% of those whom i know have given there laptop for repairing (not talking about 2-3 year old models, i feel they were good).. :p
