Budget 31-40k HP Envy 6 - Worth it?

So basically my dad needs a new laptop, and we're willing to spend upto Rs. 40k on it.

His requirements are:
1. Genuine Windows
2. Good Looks (optional till an extent)
3. ???

Uses:
1. Microsoft Office
2. Casual Internet Browsing

Yeah, as you can see, this is confusing. He's confusing me and I'm here to confuse you guys now. He has shortlisted the HP Envy 6 HP Laptop Price India, HP Envy 6-1001TU (core i3/4GB/500GB/W7B) Ultrabook,Buy HP Laptops Online - Infibeam.com.

It has an Intel i3 1.4GHz. So a 40k laptop has an i3, and moreover, a clock speed of just 1.4Ghz.

Has anyone used such processor? How does it perform? I couldn't find any reviews so I'm puzzled. He performs very basic tasks on a laptop, which range from MS Office to Powerpoint for his meetings and presentations and all. He hasn't used or will use it for anything intensive at all. He basically needs a good looking machine which leaves a decent impression.

Is a single core 2nd gen 1.4GHz too slow for a 40k laptop, or will it suffice for the basic requirements mentioned above? I just don't want him to get ripped off (which it looks like he will, on first look).

PS: If it were me, I'd get a Samsung 32k notebook which as an i5 and a discrete GPU as well. Plus 6k for Windows, so thats 38k. But the most practical option isn't always the best.

Just Today I saw HP Envy 4 Sleekbook with i5, 1GB ATI Radeon Graphics card(Dunno Model), 4GB ram, dunno about storage. Its cool. Why dont you check it? its good.
Sorry, I haven't seen it online. But I spotted it today at Reliance Digital.

Found a link Online. Check this

yup. That will be best option but still think at 40k all you get is a 1.4Ghz dual core (well with HT and 1 MB more cache).

For the works you mentioned this processor is more than sufficient but HD3000 sucks and down the line in a year or two this one will definitely feel slow. Moreover this one uses a conventional mechanical HDD rather than SSD (reason for being a Sleekbook rather than a ultrabook). I'll call this way overpriced. If it had shipped with an SSD or say HD resolution display then this one could have been termed expensive but with nothing to show off rather than its sleekness, i'll suggest stay away from this way expensive joke of a laptop.

why not go for something like this: HP Pavilion G4-2036TU. This one is not very slim but it does look good (but is glossy) and is light at 2.19Kg or HP Pavilion G6-2007TX. Though for the latter one price is over your dad's budget but it has the looks and the muscle.
