I had a recent offer from a friend of mine that HP g7-1310US laptop has come on sale for 400$ with tax(22,000 INR).
My purpose is just for day to day use and run normal applications for studies and playing games like Warcraft III.
I'm pasting the short spec for your ease below,
Processor 2nd Gen Core i3 Intel i3-2350M / 2.3 GHz ( Dual-Core )
Memory 6 GB / 8 GB (max)

Just checked the price, in ebay was 30,000 but with extra shipping 100$. In Indian websites I could see it is 40,000 INR.
