Laptops HP laptops for Indian consumer

I was looking through the HP website to see if I could find laptops to configure but I dont think they allow this. Is that true? or am I mistaken.

I was looking at the laptops available here but could not find anything higher than a C2D T5750 CPU. (also checked the Compaq Presario models but still couldn't get anything there either :()

Also does any other vendor allow us to choose options like the DELL site?
 
No, HP does not offer you to configure the laptops.
Although, they do have processors better than the T5750 in the HP Pavillions models.
 
Yes they do have better processors but their pricing is really lame and lamely high and that too for lame config...

They had quoted 54k for this lame laptop..

I was previously thinking to buy xps1530 but after seeing the config of this sys ,I am delighted.Even HP is offering superior config than dell in the same price range .
I have few doubts:

1)Where can I get this system in pune/Lucknow?If anybody purchased it in any of the cities,please mention shop and price as well with all the accessories u got.....

2)Is there any price diff. in diff. cities 4 same model ?

3)I think HP warranty covers whole India and not state specific...

4)Can anyone tell me 1105 cons and is it relly better as compared 2 xps 1530...??

HP charges more for the same config, but HP laptops look much better and have better build quality. HP has the matte finish and the exteriors of HP look much much better.

A new HP Pavilion dv5-1120tx is the new model with C2D cpu but it uses T5800 2.0 Ghz cpu + BluRay ROM & 320GB HDD.... rest is same...

I think it is available.Just ask for dv5 with centrino2 in a major retail chain.plz chkthese in banglore....Croma near Forum, Laptop World in Shivaji Nagar, ComputerWareHouse in MG Road, Computer Planet in MG Road and Croma in MG Road

9600gt in the above hp config has gddr2 which should only be as good as a 8600gt gddr3 and ,if I'm not wrong, that is what XPS ships with now. So if you can get xps at a reasonably lesser amount it's better to go for that.

Don't know about dv5-1120xt though. Perhaps someone else can confirm whether it uses gddr2 or 3
