HP Pavilion dv 6114 TX

I bought the HP Pavilion dv 6114 TX about a week back. I'm not too much of a techie person so I cant give too much statistical details. It comes with Windows XP Media Edition. It has Intel Core Duo T2050 1.6 GHz processor. I would have liked to have 1GB RAM, unfortunately it only come with 512MB RAM(can be upgraded if needed, which i will probably do later). It has most of the other features like 5 in 1 Memory card reader, Bluetooth, 1.3 Megapixel webcam and inbuilt microphones, 3 USB ports, Dual Layer DVD Burner with Lightscribe, and Wi-Fi.
This notebook is one of the best i've seen. The back of the screen is BlaCK with the Windows Media Edition design all over it which makes it look very cool. Even the silver part around the keyboard has got the same design. The only thing is it has a glossy finish, so finger print marks are all over the screen and it needs to be cleaned quite often(not an issue as such since most notebooks have the same finish). The 15.4 inch Widescreen is perfect for me. You can view it comfortably at most angles.
The keyboard is not too loud while typing. The touchpad is placed in the center-bottom of the keyboard which is good compared to some other notebooks where the touchpad is a bit to the left-bottom of the keyboard. The laptop is very silent and you can hardly even hear the fan or the dvd rom drive unless your in a place which is very very quiet. If your sitting under a fan, you will hardly even fell the notebook getting warm even after 2-3 hours of continuous use(including gaming). The part to the left of the touchpad gets a little warm but does not make it uncomfortable at all if your under a fan. If your not directly under a fan then it tends to get a little warmer but still not too uncomfortable if you use it for about a couple of hours. The user guide mentions to use the notbook only on a flat surface so that you dont block the air vents at the bottom(most manufacturers do this).
The most important thing i wanted...The Geforce Go 7400 graphic card with 256MB decicated graphic RAM. However i was a bit disappointed because i tried playing NFS Most Wanted at full settings but it was working very very slowly. It worked well only on 640 X 480 display setting, and some other settings lowered. It may work a bit better if there is 1GB RAM instead of 512MB since the Gforce card has Turbocache which can increase the VRAM to 512.
One of the cool features of the notebook is the touchpad for the media keys at the top of the keyboard. It gives the notebook a very classy look. you can play movies and music without booting Windows with the Quickplay button. The Battery lasts for about an hour and a half on medium battery settings while gaming, etc. The notebook is a little on the heavier side(about 2.5kgs), not such a problem for me since i don't really carry it around too much.
One thing i am disappointed in is the Customer Service in India. I tried calling the CS number 1800112267 several times but could not get thru and only got an engaged tone. I had an issue where the scroller on the touchpad was not working. I tried calling severaltimes during the day but just could not get thru. I then had to call the service centre number and take the notebook to them and have the issue fixed. Apparently the driver did not get installed causing the scroller not to function(a simple thing which could have got sorted over the phone if i could get thru to Customer Services. Till now i have only got thru to customer services once in all my several attempts.
My final opinion is that overall its a great notebook(as long as you dont have any problems).

GeForce Go 7400 is not that capable a video card to handle latest games in their full glory. Even Go 6600 (vanilla) beats it hands down.
