I would say your answer depends a little on the budget you have for the lappie..

Coz say like if you are in market for an ultraportable, i would think of the XPS M1210 as a good choice over the dell.

But coming to the Inspiron models, its a totally different story as in the looks and build department the HP wins hands down over their Dell counterparts.

Looks wise, HP laptops are slimmer, more sleek and have excellent finish while Dell Inspiron series though sturdy kinda box like..

Performance wise, its not a big call between them as with the customise option available on both, u can configure them to about the same config.. Maybe a graphics card choice would be diff here or there or absence of webcam in Inspiron model etc..

The HP NX7300 is a solid laptop with good build quality and performance. You can check the here for a review on it. Cons i would say is the absence of a stand alone graphics card.

Check out the Hp Dv6000t also..

well... the whole scene is ma coll is offering dell/ hp laptops.. but it seems the deal with dell is sinking coz of no proper followup by DELL.

moreover , HP is offering HP NX 7300 ... at a the same price as that of DELL insprion 6400(dell config = w/o bluetooth, and 15" tft instead of 15.4") .

thought of getting some reveiws from geeks befor i take any decesion.
